They say nothing prepares you for the feeling of becoming a grandparent, and it’s entirely true. There is a deep, overwhelming level of pride that comes with your very first grandkid, and Preston Nolin stole my heart from the exact millisecond he entered this world. Watching my daughter become a mother and bringing this boy into our lives changed everything. Preston is such an incredibly loving, sensitive, and genuinely caring seven-year-old young man. He has this massive, beautiful heart, though, unfortunately for his mom, he also happens to have just enough of his Grand Pop’s mischievous streak in him to ensure he'll get into a little bit of good-natured trouble along the way.

Over the past couple of years, we’ve shared adventures that are permanently etched into my soul, including trips to Disney that gave me memories I will cherish for the rest of my days. Seeing the magic of the world through his eyes is a gift I can't even put into words. He completely runs the show when we're together; when this kid flashes you that bright, infectious smile, you might as well just hand over your wallet right then and there because you can't possibly say no to him. And hey, let's be honest, thank God he got those undeniable good looks from his Grand Pop and not his mom... just kidding, of course!

For the wedding, Preston has a massive, incredibly important job on his shoulders. He is officially tasked with carrying the rings down the aisle. We didn't skimp here, there are no lab diamonds in that box today; we are talking about enough pure ice to go out and buy a brand-new boat. One day, when he’s a lot older and we're sitting down talking about this day, I might finally tell him exactly what kind of fortune he was in possession of and responsible for protecting. But on the wedding day, my heart will just be overflowing with pride to have him sharing this day with us. There won't be a prouder man in the room than Grand Pop watching his boy walk down that aisle to help us start this next chapter.
